And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. (2 Pet 1:19)
Here we are at Morningstar. This huge campus used to be the central part of “Heritage USA,” which, if you don’t recall the particulars, I’m certainly not going into them here. (Just google.) Suffice it to say it has been redeemed, refurbished, and restored by Morningstar ministries, which now uses it as a headquarters, church building, conference center, university campus, and much more.
This is the first stop on our ministry trip with Encounter Jesus School. I had not been that familiar with Morningstar, but we’ve been running into it a lot this past year. Both our directors, Jeremy and Vince, graduated from here. And Vince was on staff here he moved to Dallas, and EJS, a few months ago.
We arrived in time for the friday night worship service. And Saturday morning we divvied up into yhree-person teams and prophesied to some of the Morningstar personnel gathered for that purpose. Turned out they were the Morningstar prophetic team. It was great.
Essentially, what this happens is we speak out what the Lord brings to mind, a picture, a phrase, a verse or section of Scripture, and the Lord uses it for “upbuilding and encouragement and consolation.” (1 Cor 14:3)
We heard a bit about Morningstar during our trip to France last September. On our very first day we arrived at the Roucy property and heard that Morningstar had at least been in contact about it. This turned out to be true, but they were not really interested in buying it. Still, I have a feeling they’ll end up being involved in whatever happens there.
On our last night in France, we slept again at Roucy, and were excited about what the Lord seemed to pointing out about it. Early in the morning, before sunrise, we got up to go to the airport. When the car was all packed, I went into the main building to drop off the key. As I came out the front door again I stood on the front steps and said au revoir to the place. It was still dark, though dawn was near. I looked across at our guest room, and saw in the sky, directly over it, there was a bright star–it was the only thing still visible in the sky. It was in fact the Morning Star.
I did later verify its identity. The Morning Star is the planet Venus, which also represents love. It was an amazing “coincidence,” and while I don’t want to make too much of one phenomenon, it was encouraging as part of a series of interesting events. And we’ve had a prophecy that we’d have a series of signs. And this has been happening. According to the apostle Peter “you would do well to pay attention to [the word of prophecy] until the new day dawns and the morning star arises in your heart.”
